
Nepal - Ram Dao Sacrificial sword
Dated 19th century Nepalese sacrificial sword Ram Dao, used in religious ceremonies to sacrifice animals such as goats in temple grounds, the single edged blade is nicely worked along the spine with inlay brass, deeply struck with makers mark on one side. The Ram dao was presented to N. J. Wolesworth Esquire by A.B.C. Ardheur (as inscribed on the blade) the hilt is wood with polished brass.
